Chicago’s Culinary Crossroads brings together the area’s preeminent restaurants and chefs with thousands of food and wine lovers from around the corner — and around the world and our Martins Ritins will be there.
From Tuesday, May 1 through Friday, May 25 – restaurants will present special tasting menus, featured items or desserts, cocktails, or beers inspired by the cuisines of the NATO nations.
During Chicago's Culinary Crossroads, our Chef Martins Ritins will be paired with Chef Brandon Wolff, The Signature Room at the 95th to collaborate on menu dinner service offer that truly reflect our Latvian cuisine.
Additionally, he will visit and interact with high school students studying culinary arts in Chicago Public School.
The students have been studying the NATO nations in preparation for their senior Capstone event, Passport on a Plate, and the chefs will participate in a panel discussion with the students to provide a perspective about the cuisine and culture of their countries. Also, the students will prepare and present a variety of menu items representing each country, and the chefs will provide insights as well as demonstrate the cooking methods of traditional foods from their country. These events will broaden the students understanding of global cultures and cuisines.
Many of the international chefs' cities are members of Delice, the Network of Good Food Cities Worldwide, and this extraordinary fusion of local and international chefs is sure to produce exceptional menus.
